GRADE 5 - £31,364 - £35,745 p.a. plus benefits package

Working Pattern: 

Monday - Thursday 8:45am – 5.00pm and Friday - 8:45am – 4.30pm


37 hours per week

In this role you will provide expert advice and guidance on GIS across the Council.  Holding regular sessions to communicate key messages, and developments across the GIS work area. Showcasing examples of best practice and provide a forum for all staff to raise and discuss GIS related issues across the Council.

Alongside this, you will undertake a wide variety of spatial data capture tasks to ensure our record of GIS data is accurate and up to date, map production and geospatial analysis.  You will also lead data management improvements ensuring that the data captured by the Council is available using and developing publishing applications to openly share to internal and external stakeholders.

You will demonstrate sound knowledge of knowledge of the Ordnance Survey public services mapping agreement including experience in spatial database development. This will include design, build, architecture & implementation. Excellent communication skills are required in order to transfer information to both technical and non-technical customers (internal and external), as well as being reliable, flexible and responsive with the ability to react to changing customer service demands. The successful candidate will show attention to detail and have the ability to be assertive and confident.

You will have a degree which includes strong spatial data component or 3 years equivalent experience. As well as experience in spatial database development and experience of implementing spatial data standards across all business areas.
