For the last 20 years Three Shires has developed long standing relationships with the UK s leading House Builders, Construction Contractors, Civil Engineers, Developers, Environmental and Ecological Consultants. Our services include Ecological, Vegetation Clearance, Invasive Weed, Tree Protection, Site Hoarding and Security Fencing we also undertake all other aspects of site enablement

We have a vacancy for a Geomatics Assistant the role will be predominantly field based, you would need to be in commutable distance to our Head Office in Melton Mowbray.

Successful candidates for the Geomatics Assistant role will need to have:

  • A good working knowledge of GPS/TST data capture
  • Assist the Geomatics Officer with all aspects of digital field survey, data capture and download, quality assurance and the configuration and maintenance of survey equipment
  • The role will include digital field survey, data capture, training, quality assurance and configuration of survey equipment
  • Proven experience of Leica GPS/TST data capture is essential as well as knowledge and experience of CAD and GIS
  • Good IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office
  • CSCS card would be advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Geomatics Assistant main duties:

  • To undertake and support the successful and safe conduct of digital field survey, the preparation of site plans, stakeout, field survey data capture, and subsequent downloading of field survey data
  • To ensure the quality of digitised and field survey data from creation to completion, including the appropriateness of the final product
  • To undertake the successful creation, manipulation and presentation of archaeological datasets, from both hard copy and digital sources, using appropriate software
  • To assist the Geomatics Officer in conducting staff training programmes
  • To actively manage personal workload and assist the Geomatics Officer with the flow of Geomatics work from all departments and offices within the company
  • Contribute to the successful and safe conduct of fieldwork projects, including fieldwalking, evaluation, excavation, finds processing, data entry and archiving
