We are seeking a full time Graduate researcher to work within the Commercial Research team based at our Manchester Offices.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic property research consultancy team within a FTSE-250 listed property company in the role of retail property research analyst. Due to considerable growth in this market over recent years we are looking to recruit a graduate who can undertake property research analysis in the UK. There is the potential for gaining a professional accreditation via the RICS Research APC pathway and excellent scope for advancing your career.
THE ROLE
This is a graduate role to carry out and develop retail property market analysis within a property research and consultancy department dealing with the retail sector in the UK. The role demands close liaison with the company's property consultants and other members of the research team, to ensure that the analysis fits with clients’ needs and the consultancy process. You must be highly motivated and ambitious, with a fine attention to detail. Note that there is a strong focus on analysing data using GIS methods and therefore skills in this area will be important.

There has been a considerable expansion of retail research services within Savills in recent years and there is great potential to take the business a large step further. You will have the enthusiasm to contribute to driving this exciting business forward, with support from your manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Producing demographic and expenditure reports, researching supply, mapping, database manipulation, report writing and product development. Training will be provided where necessary but we expect a high level of aptitude in order to implement new skills quickly and effectively. You will be serving both internal and external clients.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education to Degree level in an appropriate subject
- Strong analytical skills and numeracy
- An ability to relate empirical analysis to clients’ property needs
- Strong data analysis and manipulation skills
- A personable style needed to build existing and new client relationships
- Enthusiasm for building business
- Ability to take responsibility for developing personal skills, think for yourself and problem solve unassisted
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of GIS packages (including MapInfo) and mapping
- Experience, or conceptual knowledge of databases (Access, SQL etc)
- GIS related undergraduate qualification
- Experience of retail property market analysis would be an advantage
- Retail modelling

- Highly computer literate
- Ability to retain information and follow up all leads
- Confident to meet, present to, and network with peers and professionals in our business
