Reports to: Head of Location Analysis
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
- Continually review competitor growth strategies, understanding past performance and forecast future growth. Proactively track what may come over the horizon, modelling different scenarios in order to gauge the potential impact of competitor strategies on my client.
- Manage the delivery of strategic presentations to my client’s Expansion Group providing insight into the competitor market and how new space growth over the next 5 years will change the market.
- Support the Head of Location Analysis to deliver strategic decision making to;
- determine what new space should be delivered e.g. new stores Vs extensions, large stores Vs small stores.
- understand how much space is available and when saturation will occur.
- Responsible for delivering a step change the understanding of the new space pipeline. Conduct analysis to show how efficiency levels and work agendas should change in order to hit my clients new space targets.
- Drive forward a step change in the understanding of the effect of our new space programme the effect of the programme on customer measures such as market share and customer coverage, sales performance and my client growth vs. competitors.
- Provision of the space and investment information for my clients external reporting. Support Investor Relations and Financial Planning in providing commentary for external communication.
- Support the competitor monitoring team in forecasting new space growth in the market, providing a breakdown of the new space element of the TNS and IGD information.
- Responsible for the data integrity of information contained within the Property Information Portal (PIP)
SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong strategic thinking. Proven experience of writing and pulling together strategic presentations.
Excellent analytical skills. Able to synthesise and analyse a wide variety of data while keeping customer needs top of mind. Recognition that the customer is at the heart of all capital investment decisions.
Strong communicator with the ability to gather subjective information from the development and town planning departments and organise in order to deliver analysis to aid strategic decision making. Ability to communicate with colleagues from different disciplines and work cross-functionally.
Excellent organisational skills, with proven behaviours of attention to detail and ‘completer finisher’. Structured approach and clear deadline focus.
Able to present analysis and recommendations to a range of audiences in a logical, concise way.
Ability to integrate quantitative (nectar data, segmentation, etc.) and qualitative information (retail feedback, customer research, etc.) to support investment decisions.
Ability to challenge, stretch and develop existing methodologies and approaches beyond business as usual.
Highly numerate with strong Excel skills
EXPERIENCE
Experience of analysing numerical information and transforming this into strategic insight
Experience of managing strategic projects and working with a cross-functional team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good degree, ideally in a Business related subject, Geography, Economics or Mathematics.
