Job Description:

  • Closing date: Friday 14th August 2020
  • Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Seafish, the public body tasked with supporting the £10bn UK seafood industry, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated GIS analyst with proven project management skills to help deliver an innovative project to map marine protected areas around the UK. You will work alongside colleagues in Seafish’s Kingfisher team where you will use your GIS and project management skills to liaise with external contacts, manage spatial data and develop GIS solutions to deliver a ‘consolidated, simplified & practical view of the UK's marine projected area network’ for the fishing industry.

It’s the job of the Kingfisher team to work with the fishing and other marine industries to deliver a clear picture of what is happening offshore. This is predominantly to improve safety, although the huge part of this work is about improving awareness and understanding. Kingfisher services are high profile and in delivering this new project you will be making a real impact.

Seafish is here to give the UK seafood sector the support it needs to thrive. Our work makes a huge difference. It keeps fishermen safe, supports sustainable sourcing, helps businesses work efficiently and boosts the nation’s health. We work in partnership with stakeholders from across the seafood sector and engage in everything from research to campaigns, insight and training.

We have a flexible working environment, plenty of personal benefits and Seafish has just been named in the Sunday Times 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For in 2020. There has never been a better time to get on board.
